Result -- DA originally wanted a plea to Count 1 which would include mandatory sex registration for life pursuant to Penal Code section 290; Fred Thiagarajah set the case for trial and then DA changed their offer and allowed Defendant to plead not a non-registerable offense.

People v. R.R. (2008)
Charge -- Probation Violation on a DUI.
Facts -- Defendant was originally sentenced to 10 days Caltrans and montly fines for his DUI. After 6 months, he never did his Caltrans and was 4 months behind on his fines. Court issued a bench warrant for Defendant`s arrest.
Result -- We appeared in court with Defendant. Bench warrant was recalled. We negotiated with judge and kept Defendant out of jail. Instead, Defendant received 20 days community service instead of his original 10 days Caltrans.

Charge -- Harassing Emails (Penal Code section 653m)
Location -- Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach
Result -- Dismissal


People v. D.L. (2007)
Charge -- Probation Violation on DUI
Location -- North Justice Center, Fullerton
Facts -- Defendant had been kicked out of DUI program twice. When defendant was represented by public defender, the court`s offer was 150 days jail. We took the case over from public defender and renegotiated case with judge.
Result -- 20-days Caltrans and D re-enrolled in DUI program


People v. M.E. (2006)
Charge -- Lewd Conduct in Public (Penal Code 647(a))
Location -- West Justice Center, Westminster Result -- Reduced to disturbing the peace; No Jail


People v. J.K (2006)
Charge -- Reckless Driving (Vehicle Code 23103)
Location -- West Justice Center, Westminster
Result -- Reduced to Infraction of unsafe speed


People v. P.L. (2006)
Charge -- Driving on a Suspended License (Vehicle Code 14601.5)
Location -- Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach
Facts -- Defendant had already pled guilty to driving on a suspended license and later learned that the conviction added 2 points to his DMV record which meant losing his driver`s license. He called our office to find out if anything could be done.
Result -- Our motion to withdraw his guilty plea was granted. Renegotiated case with District Attorney`s office and got the charge reduced to Vehicle Code 12500(a) (driving without a license) which carries no points. Defendant kept his Driver`s License.


People v. N.V. (2005)
Charge -- Penal Code 653m(b) (harassing emails)
Location -- Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach
Result -- Dismissal on first day of trial.
